About AFPlats

African Platinum is a mineral exploration and investment business focused on the platinum group metals. It was listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (ticker symbol APP) in 2002.

The company's flagship project is Leeuwkop on the Western Limb of South Africa's Bushveld Complex, the world's major platinum region. Afplats has recently completed the pre-feasibility study on this project which comprises the Leeuwkop, Imbasa and Inkosi properties. The Leeuwkop resource estimate stands at 50 million ounces of 4E but continued exploration by Afplats has indicated that this could increase significantly over time. The study envisages a 300 000 4E ounce per annum mining and concentrating operation with a mine life in excess of 20 years.

Afplats also has exploration rights over potential PGM targets in Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

The company's immediate objective is to complete the bankable feasibility study on Leeuwkop. Its longer-term goals are to identify and acquire further quality PGM exploration and mining projects in Africa; to establish a resource base in excess of 100 million ounces 4E; to upgrade its current resource status, thus elevating Afplats to the top of the mid-tier PGM companies; and to position itself as a premier institutional-quality platinum investment opportunity in the global market.
